Howdy,
I run a progressive press with carbide dies for all my main match Black Powder reloading and I know that supposedly no lube is needed on the brass. But, I've found that a very small amount of lube makes my progressive run much easier. What I do is this. I put a lite spray of Ballistol into an empty canvas shot bag and dump in the clean, ready to load, brass. I shake it up a bit and dump it into the shell hopper. That's it, all the lube that is needed. The brass isn't wet enough to need to be cleaned after loading, yet the press runs like the well oiled machine it is.
