Last night on "Forged In Fire" they hosted the first international competition with four smiths: one Pole, one Argentine, one Frenchman and one American whose name was Randall.

Was that the famed Randall knifemaker of renown? In any case - he won!

one of my favourite pieces of music is Kris Kristofferson's "The randall Knife"

My father had a Randall knife, my mother gave it to him

It appears that the winner, J.W.Randall might not be associated with the company "Randall Made Knives":

J. W. Randall, MS
aka " JW "Buzzy" Randall"
aka  James W. Randall
is located in Keithville, LA

"A self-employed welding and steel fabricator for 37 years, Randall and his wife, Tammy, live on 11 acres in Keithville where he began forging knives 19 years ago."

W. D. "Bo" Randall passed away December 25, 1989 at his home after visiting with all his family earlier in the day. Bo and his son Gary managed the business side by side for over twenty-five years. Gary continues the tradition of hand crafting knives that bear the Randall Made trademark along with his sons, Jason and Michael, of the next Randall generation.

I've been to the Randle Knives Shop & Museum, unimposing little building off Orange Blossom Trail in S. Orlando, it is about 1/2 mile from my work 20.
Sets back off OBT , looks like it was residence originally  :-\  .

Kinda , really ?  the world famous knife is made here ?  somewhat of let down , then you go in and are awe struck....way cool...
the Grandsons run the place now....

I liked that

Yeah I play it often - just a sweet bit of picking and a good story .......................

I've carried a Randall Model 1 for decades - sold my Model 15 to my medic so I could afford it.

Back then, when you had an APO, you got top priority for manufacture and shipping, since Randall figured we'd actually 'use' them - I had it in a couple of months.

That knife has seen the world several times over, in some truly inhospitable places and is still beautiful, but then it's stainless, with a linen Micarta handle and nickel sliver hilt, so it would be easy to maintain.

Scouts Out!

I've still got the Randall boot knife I carried in my uniform boot and later in my more dressy cowboy boots when I was a detective (plain clothes). Never stuck anyone with it but it was a comfort knowing it was there.
