Hoping to get a Slim Jim right
« on: January 04, 2020, 11:20:40 AM »
Been years since I tried to make a holster, but have a new Uberti 1851 Colt London Model just dying to hang off my belt.
I usually make a pattern from manila folder stock. Just hope I get the belt loop dimensions right so that it hangs properly and doesn't crawl up on the draw.
Wish me luck fellers.

If I have any questions on fit of a holster design, I make one out of a manilla folder first or even belly leather that won't get used for anything else. The design proven, I then make one from good leather.

Yes sir if you are unsure use a belly to see how it fits. You can take it back apart and still use parts of that leather for small scrap pieces. Everything has a use.
