Ankara 1933, $300, I like the long infantry rifles. 

I have a 1911 I have some parts to put on, the rig is done, bone grips, could kinda call it a BBQ gun. 


I decided I needed a 98 Mauser, prefer the long ones and for $300 it came home with me today.

I just finished upgrading my 1911 Gov't .45, I picked up a Remington R-1 enhanced slide on sale along with Novak sight. I had to fit the sights and barrel bushing but the improvement in the sights was worth it,All told, I have less than $175.00 into the parts and maybe a hour labor .I might try Wild bunch next year if I can find a decent shotgun. I'm undecided between a 97 or a 87.

Thanks for the insights. I never heard about sesame seeds as a case filler. I will try that. I also may have some .44 Russian brass laying around. I'll try that also.

You have kind of confirmed my suspicion that full black powder loads out of these replicas in cases that will hold 35 grains is probably not the best idea. Mostly I am worried about damaging the latch, which may not be practical to repair if damaged.

I am so sorry, I am so glad we have good ones to 300 set up on our place. 

Last time I was at a public range was in 2020, didn't feel like shooting but rode along. 

No one was being unsafe it is just that tactical hipsters are weird to watch. 

Also funny to watch GG's left-over parts 91 Mauser with 117 round noses outshoot 4 different NATO knock off clones and some guy with a tupperware stocked rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor.   

Although I suspect the rifles did not have a lot to do with it.
