Peacemaker.22 size from USFA?
« on: August 09, 2005, 02:29:08 PM »
Just curious to see how many out ther would be interested in a 7/8 scale ( like a Colt Peacemaker.22) sized gun in the .22 calibers (.22LR/ Magnum) made by USFA.

I'd line up to be the first to buy one!  My Colt New Frontier .22s are getting better with age, but are really too small for my desires.  A full-size SAA in .22 is just too heavy, so one made 7/8-size should be just about perfect.  Maybe we need to start a campaign with USFA?

That's kinda what I was hoping this thread would do. Guess we 'll have to watch, wait, and see.

Back from the past. Still haven't give up on this, and I still think it would be great to have one! :)

I'm going to have to get a couple .22's soon, so I can start teaching the kids gun safety and how to shoot.  ;D

Why a 7/8 size single action?  Why not just stick with the real size USFA Plinker.  I have one and they are great guns!  Maybe not as accurate as a K-22 but still very good and they feel right.  A real SAA but shooting affordable 22 ammunition.

Just my thoughts.

Ever shoot a full sized steel .22? Very heavy!
The Colt Peacemaker/New Frontiers .22 were probably some of the best single action .22s ever made.

Rawhide,

I've got a Plinker and while heavy, not as bad as a S&W 44 mag or other large frame revolvers.  Mine has a 5 1/2" barrel and the weight is really just in your hand, no overhang feeling.  The revolver just hangs there and it's not much heavier then a 32/20 but it is heavier then a 45.

As you can imagine, no recoil.

I would be interested if they made a 7/8 scale 1875 Remington in .22 cal. It would be direct competition for the Ruger Bearcat, except that it would be a scaled down version of something real.

And I wouldn't mind it if they made this proposed .22 in standard "Rodeo" finish so I could actually afford a couple and shoot 'em. I would LOVE to have a couple of "Rodeo" style .22's to practice with and have my young sons learn on!
