Johnny McCrae hooked me on it ... in fact he sent me a 1st intro sample can 10- 12 years ago.
It was Ten Wolves who put me on to Skidmores around fifteen years ago. Thanks again TW.

I was a Greaser in High School during the fifties. I went through a whole tube of Bryl-creem every week. I wonder how Skidmores would have worked in my hair?
You need to learn to like all the little everday things like a sip of good whiskey, a soft bed, a glass of buttermilk,  and a feisty old gentleman like myself

Skidmore's might have done the trick. But not if you had a flat top and needed Dixie Peach Pomade. Then you'd need more bees wax in it.

We also used a product called Butch Wax when we had flat tops. It was like Vaseline that smelled nice. Ah, the good old days!

I remember that stuff. As I recall, it was a lot thicker than Vaseline.

My father used Brylcreem. The tube was red and white back then. So was Colgate toothpaste. Guess what he put in his hair one morning? It dried hard as a board. Stayed in place like it was glued. Could have weathered a hurricane without a hair getting out of place.

Also guess what he brushed his teeth with another morning...

Reminds me of the fellow who mistook super glue for hemorrhhoid cream.
