Tho not as a GAF personna, I have sometime portrayed a Choctaw Lighthorse/Indian Police (also I.T. US Marshal) in several NCOWS shoots.  Fascinating history.

I agree it is a fascinating history.  The rules for enforcement went from the cruel to the quick justice.  Not a lot written about individuals that I have been able to find so far.

You may have already seen this article by Art Burton. It's short, but seems to cover some of the information you're looking for. I've got all three of Burton's books, and he seems to do good research.
