Title: Pedersoli Trapdoor Carbine Stock
Post by: Niederlander on January 13, 2023, 09:54:04 PM
Gentlemen, Does anyone here know if the Pedersoli Trapdoor Carbine stock fits original parts?  (Barrel/receiver, lock, etc.)  I recall having an H & R stock years ago that most parts seemed to fit, but I don't remember how well.

Try S and S Firearms. They have reproduction stocks for origanals.

Dunlap Wood Products has them, too, but I'm still curious.  I have a message in to Pedersoli, so we'll see what they say.  I'd rather have it pretty much finished if it fits.  It would also be nice to have another source for stocks.

 easy answer is .... maybe

So ...the original jigs and gauges were (purchased) by Stembridge Gun Rentals.
They were sold to Harrington & Richardson, and Pedersoli acquired them from H&R.
That was over 20 years ago, so there is a kinship.

We can only hope!  It's always good to have another source for parts!

I have to wonder how long the jigs last. Guages at least do not experience much wear….

Heard back from Pedersoli today.  They don't know if original parts fit or not.  Anyone here have one of the Pedersoli Trapdoors and an original lock plate they could check?

Well, I have a Pedersoli stock on the way, so we'll see how it works.

Got the stock, and it looks like it will work.  It is a long comb, but I can change that with a bit of wood bashing.  Fortunately, I won't need to have it done until next year!

I had a rear sight leaf problem on my Perdersoli Carbine. Pedersoli said they'd ship my one for about 90.00 and they were sure I'd get it, eventually.
Took a flyer, ordered an Original from Grandpa's guns online.
Darn thing went right in, and had the same zero.
Kinda backwards of the way you went, but maybe illustrative of the commonality of parts?

I now have the stock, and from the limited time I've had to mess with it, it would seem everything will fit.  I do need to shorten the comb to match the early stock, but that shouldn't present too much of a problem.
