G.A.F. Weekly Chat
« on: July 16, 2008, 09:59:48 PM »
Members of the G.A.F.

I would like to report on the first group Chat of the members of the Grand Army of the Frontier on the CAS City Chat Rooms. The room was started at 8:25 p.m. (Eastern Time), and as soon as it was opened we were pleased to have two members report, several things were dicscussed, some serious, some playful, and by the time the Chat was closed out we had had 8 members of the G.A.F. report at various times (having on average no less than 3 in the room until it was closed down), and a continous discussion was held. At 10:35 p.m. (Eastern Time) the room was closed out.

I would like to thank all of those who chose to join with us in the this Chat (Col. Schmitt, Maj. Sterner, River City John, Lt. Frenchie, Delmonico, Maynard, CJ Lake), it was very encouraging to talk with other members of the G.A.F. and to see that there is a desire to keep things moving along.

It was decided by those present to hold a Weekly Grand Army of the Frontier Chat. It was suggested to be held each Wensday at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and will run until the last members leave the room. If this suggestion meets with the approval of General US Scout, I was wondering what others thoughts on this matter are? Any and all input will be more than welcomed.

Thank you all for your time, and I look forward to your comments.

My only suggestion would be to change it to a night other than Weds. I'd sure hate to miss Midway USA's Wednesday on the Range.

What other dates or times would work better for folks out West?

Please keep in mind, the logic here is going to have to be used that you can't please all the people all of the time, so settle for some of the people some of the time.

My far Northern part of Idaho on the British Columbia border is on Pacific Time. 1800 Eastern Time equates to 1500 Pacific Time.  Not many of us would be likely to participate at that hour!    :-X

I suggest 2030 be tried. Although that would still be early for us, it might, possibly, allow a few of us to participate.

Maybe just stagger it as to days and time, that way it should catch at least part of the time for everyone.

There's an interesting idea.  That might work!

It sounds like an interesting idea. We will have to see about it. I think right about now I'm looking at just playing it by ear. If anyone would like to Volunteer to help moderate the groups it would be appriciated.

Shucks - I missed ALL of ya!

I got on @ 22:31 EST and it said that Col. Bull was there, but he must've stepped away from the room as he didn't answer.  I was only able to stay about 1.5 minutes, any-hoo.

We'll keep tryin'!

I wish I  had an excuse like "pretty ladies!"

Yeah it would be so much nicer to be able to say I was at my Tent when a rolling brothel suddenly came into camp with only myself and the Sergeant of the Guard to handle the situation, and with the surplus supply of whiskey we had just confiscated one thing lead to another.

However I'm stuck with going with the fact that my computer signal just sucks, shucks.  ???

Yeah a man can dream right? But then a good woman will come along and knock some temporary sense into him as always, and so much for the dream.  ;D
