CM, the best use I've found for ROA's is to hold a Kirst cylinder in place !!!! 😆
They were a really good study of "torsion spring" placement and as in all things, a great place to start for improvements in other SA revolvers. It's possible we may get a "gated conversion" from Walt some day. I'd do that to all my ROA's in a heartbeat!!! Imagine,  a 3-screw "Super Blackhawk" that can double as a cap gun !?

Morning y'all.
Coffee and iced tea are ready.

'Tis 66 and partly cloudy. "Humid. Mostly cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs around 80. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50 percent."

Quote from: Crossdrawnj on July 03, 2025, 09:05:21 AMI had a pair of S&W panels fitted to my Taylor's frontier.  But, they are reproductions. I would prefer a set of faux ivory or pearl as my model 3 is nickle plated. It still looks better than the wood panels it came with.

And yes, Uberti discontinued the new model 3. I just happened to call Taylor's about it and was told they still have several in stock, so I ordered one sent to y FFL.

You might try NC Ordnance for faux ivory's, or Gripmaker (Larry Little).
There is also a guy on eBay his name escapes me right now.
Tombstone Grips ?  ???  maybe?

Almost... don't forget the SMITH & WESSON 3rd Model .38 Cal. DOUBLE ACTION Top Break Revolver.  ;D

I agree I think the NM #3 is the best looking of the bunch, followed by the 2nd Model Russian.

Major, I was wondering, I'm heard of people using the latch out of the Russian to get away from the adjustable rear sight of the NM#3.....I don't know how close the latch would be to the original S&W latch....I've located one.....or, I may just try to cut the front sight to the profile used on the NM#3 target models ....I have the Russian, the Schofield, &the Frontier (NM#3).....I think the NM#3 is the best of the bunch....hope to add the American soon....... that'll round out the top breaks  ;D

I sorta guessed that was your drift...

I know the Beretta Laramie version did, they also had a Transfer Bar and frame mount firing pin.
Uberti made them of the Corporate Beretta,

After the Laramie discontinued, Uberti made their NM version with a real Firing Pin, and the small #3 sight.
I think Uberti was phasing out production even in 2013
as Taylor had only 2 in stock and one was spoken for.
I bought the other, those were the last 2 Taylor had in 2013.
Sue said then, "they did not expect of get any more for quite a while."
As, they were made in short lot runs once each year.
Now they there are discontinued.

82 here right now, after a high of 92. Possible rain tomorrow.
Well, it's been busy around here with my Nephew getting ready to move here from Alabama and found out today that one on my g'nieces will be staying with us from this weekend as she is starting volleyball practice with her new school next week. She's a great kid, so it will be nice having her here.
