And yes, Uberti discontinued the new model 3. I just happened to call Taylor's about it and was told they still have several in stock, so I ordered one sent to y FFL.

You might try NC Ordnance for faux ivory's, or Gripmaker (Larry Little).
There is also a guy on eBay his name escapes me right now.

I agree I think the NM #3 is the best looking of the bunch, followed by the 2nd Model Russian.

Major, I was wondering, I'm heard of people using the latch out of the Russian to get away from the adjustable rear sight of the NM#3.....I don't know how close the latch would be to the original S&W latch....I've located one.....or, I may just try to cut the front sight to the profile used on the NM#3 target models ....I have the Russian, the Schofield, &the Frontier (NM#3).....I think the NM#3 is the best of the bunch....hope to add the American soon....... that'll round out the top breaks

I know the Beretta Laramie version did, they also had a Transfer Bar and frame mount firing pin.
Uberti made them of the Corporate Beretta,

After the Laramie discontinued, Uberti made their NM version with a real Firing Pin, and the small #3 sight.
 I think Uberti was phasing out production even in 2013
as Taylor had only 2 in stock and one was spoken for.
I bought the other, those were the last 2 Taylor had in 2013.
Sue said then, "they did not expect of get any more for quite a while."
As, they were made in short lot runs once each year.
Now they there are discontinued.

Well, it's been busy around here with my Nephew getting ready to move here from Alabama and found out today that one on my g'nieces will be staying with us from this weekend as she is starting volleyball practice with her new school next week. She's a great kid, so it will be nice having her here.

Heavy bullets don't really fix "Stove Piping" in the '92.  Stove Piping is caused by the lifter bouncing the round around.  The faster you run the rifle, the more pronounced the bouncing becomes.  this is because the Cartridge Guides leave too much play in the cartridge lift.  As I mentioned before, the right side cartridge guide needs shimmed to just kiss the cartridge case which stabilizes the cartridge.

I've just been trying to get the rifle to feed period. Ejection is fine, it's failure-to-feeds that have always plagued me.

So far it seems like the vast majority of getting cartridges to feed in the R92 comes down to bullet shape and COAL. The bullet needs to be the right shape and in the right place to guide itself into the chamber.

Here is what the the rifle did when I first got it and tried to feed some 1.5ish" COAL 45 Colt with more rounded bullets through it:

So far the 1.75" long cartridges have been flawless. Perhaps the heavy crimp is playing a role as well. 


I shot five of four different loads, all with the same bullets and loads, read with a Garmin Xero this weekend:

I've been using the same bullets and cases in 1.6" long cartridges and feeding has been around 90%. The load I've been using is 6.0 grains of Green Dot, which at 1.6" gives me 1000 fps instead of 900.

So I'm thinking of just staying with Green Dot. It seemed to have a softer recoil than the Titegroup loads, even while providing a greater velocity. (The brass may have been cooler as well.)
