Fall shoot

  The buffalo/long range shoot held last year in the flint hills of KS has been moved to the fall. It will also be held about 40 miles east of last years shoot. Mark the first wknd in Oct and watch for more info here and on ths Kansas board as new info unfolds.     jt

BUFFALO/LONG RANGE SHOOT

Date:  Oct 1, 2, 3,  2010
Location:  near Lebo, KS.
Sponsors: Kansas Muzzleloaders Assn. & Kansas
         Vigilance Committee (a posse of NCOWS).
Entry: $30 by Sept 20 or $35 after 9-20, or day of shoot

Black Powder and Smokeless categories. Medals for first five places in each category.  40 shots for score, no sight in-shots.

Rules: Any rifle caliber is ok but be aware, most targets must be knocked down to
                count.              
                NO MODERN OPTICS, Spotters with period optics ok, period scopes ok.
                Rifles must be of the period of pre-1886; cross-sticks allowed.
                Lead bullets only.
                Must be in period dress to shoot.

 Side match:  .22 caliber, any rifle except semi-autos, 20 shots, NO scopes,  NO                    
 sight-in shots, bullets must be loaded one at a time. Additional $5 entry.

 Awards and door prizes (must be present to win door prizes) announced when last
 shooter finishes Sunday or 10 am, whichever is later. Medals will be mailed to
 anyone not present.

            Primitive and modern camping (no hookups, no water)

            Motels: Wyatt Earp Inn 620-256-6351
                          Universal Inn 620-256-6395
                          both approx. 10 miles distant

            Food: Lebo Diner, Petticoat Jct. (Lebo), Casey’s (Lebo)
                      Beto Junction Truck Stop, Wendy’s, Subway (I-35 & 75 Hwy) all

 What do you consider period dress?

   Ranges will be out to about 400m actual ranges will be your estimate.
  Cook fires will be allowed, with proper attention.
  Targets will all be steel, mostly 60-65 lb knock=down buffalo, someNRA sillouettes(sp?), and a 3/4 size buffalo, and others.

 Directions to the shoot;
  From the West, North, or East; At the jct. of I-35 & US 75, Go south 5 mi. to 22nd Rd. Turn right (west), Proceed west 5 mi. to Homestead Rd. Turn south 2 mi to 20th rd. Gate will be just south of 20th on west side.
  From the South; Take 75 north from Burlington KS approx 10 mi to 22nd, turn left (west), follow previous directions.

  Answer   You bet !! any door prizes cheerfully accepted.
  You have about 20 days to get those entries in the mail to get the early reduced shoot fee.
