Colt Lightning revolver with modifications

      Greetings!

   When I was in my 'teens, my neighborhood Gun Shop had a fairly nice Colt's 1877 that had been very professionally reworked / sleeved to .22LR; the gunsmith had stamped his name on the bottom of the barrel. I cannot recall his name.
   A "few" years later, I saw a write-up in The American Rifleman's "Dope Bag" (?) that mentioned two gunsmiths that had "specialized" in converting Colt's 1877s to .22RF.
   I regret not buying that 1877... RRIO, I send You a Hearty BRAVO!
