I came to the same conclusion. The more I use the 50-70 the less use I had for the 45-70. And because I have a 405 for flat shooting, I really have o use for the 45-70. I wrote about that on a couple of fora. Made no friends fast!

Yep, sounds about right. I shoot a customized 1866 trapdoor so keep my loads a bit soft. The 1865 and 1866 are were the myth of the weak trapdoor is actually true.
