There were literally dozens of different spur styles.  The spurs and Gull Wing straps that I described are very early 1870-1880 cowboy style.  These styles were still made well into the 20th century, but many new designs were also developed in the late 19th and early 20th century.  Some of these had chain hangers, and some did not.

Got the jig saturday, works really nice. I did the 8 R-P brass @ 1.81, then re read the artical in the Lyman book only to realize they were cut that short to accommodate a certain bullet. So today I will cut some Starline to proper length. I did chamber the R-P brass, and the bolt closes no problem. Hoping the Starline follows suit. Crap weather out today and Packers don't play till tonight, so should get alot done today. (snickers)

I found mine when I was in a gun shop buying some supplies and wasn't looking for anything else.  I happened to look off at the side and it was with several rifles that were on consignment.  I was fortunate to get a nice Chiappa in 44-40.

Thanks, Rube. I'm headed over there today to give it to him. He wanted the other one dyed a dark brown with a reddish tint so I put a splash of cordovan in the dye for this one. It should be close to what he wanted. We'll find out in a while.

Decades ago, Alan Clark wrote about this and the abysmal leadership - it's titled 'The Donkeys'.

Good morning and God bless on this Sunday Morning. 56 here right now, drizzly, supposed to hit 59 today. Ready for Church, teaching on Elijah in Sunday School today. Got my new compressor yesterday, went to the Hobby Shop and bought a little N scale caboose for the railroad. Remember the Chessie System? Oh well, y'all be good, praying for you all, especially Del.

Beautiful job. Great looking belt and I am sure he will cherish it as he has the original.

Perfection in a collection? I do not consider myself to be a collector, but I still need just one more.
