Welcome to the sunny wet South!

A quick review of last month says all is normal in BS land.

Did watch a decent movie on TV the other night. Vietnam era, cast included Dale Dye.
A Full Measure.  If you haven’t seen it, it’s worth the price of a bag of popcorn.
Being a former Airman myself, I appreciated the story.

Anyways thinking about the Mexican holiday coming later this week.
What I can and cannot eat.

Not much to report.

I will get back to my doodling.

MAY THE 4th BE WITH YOU!

All but completed the Ruby WW1 Shadow Box,
I was looking for an original WW1 Victory Medal to add next to the original Croix de Guerre.
But lost out on the eBay auction

I will place it on display in the WW1 exhibit.

Big batches of Great Northern get ate on a day or so and then get turned into baked beans and the leftovers bagged.  Pintos the same but refried, butter beans get frozen as in because they are my favorite for ham and beans.

Going to the store a bit later to get my beans and a ham butt (Del got me on this kick)

I might look for butter beans, but seldom see them. I know they'll have GN's, I'll add carrots & some onions.
I'll let them soak & cook all day, have some for dinnertime, pack some for my lunch at the museum tomorrow and freeze the remainder.

Roast was very good, and I save a piece for nooning today.

Afternoon all.

72 degrees and sunny in Great Falls.

Once I finish doing the work of Big Blue, I’m going over to a coworker’s house to help him pull down an acre of old wire fence as he gets his property ready to change hands. I’m not sure how I got into that position, but there’s food attached, so it could be worse.

Howdy Y'all,
things have not been very good lately, My mom who is 87 fell and broke her left femur on Sunday,Called the ambulance and took her to the hospital.Took forever to get a room for her. Performed surgery Monday morning and put a rod in her leg. She's doing good, but caught covid while there,Tested negative when she was admitted, and positive yesterday. She'll be transported to a rehab place tomorrow. She is doing good otherwise and has kept her spirits up. The insurance company of the woman that totaled my car finally accepted 100% liability, But is trying to screw me on the value of my car. I have enough to deal with without fighting these morons.

Slow day here @ the U-see-Um  so far- (2PM) , and normally we'll taper off after 3PM , to about no one -zilch
So, I don't expect it will ramp up as the day wears on.
Fact is it's been slow all week.

Bid on and won an original WW1 Victory Medal, I had been in the running on a few other examples, until they exceeded my budget.
This one, I lucked out on, price was right in budget, I'll add it to my Ruby Shadow box display w/ the Croix de guerre 1914–1918

37 and windy in Great Falls today. Drove up from Missoula last night, and had quite the menagerie on the trip. Deer, elk, antelope, a beaver, a black bear and a flock of herons. Also bighorn sheep. I didn’t know herons moved in flocks, but apparently they do.

In other news, I get the joy of scrubbing an airplane today. Very wet/dirty job.

Currently 55 and sunny, with 35mph winds here in Great Falls.

Today was interesting from the perspective of this junior enlisted man. I learned some new skills to help out other shops, attended several briefings, sampled the respirator air system, swept a 1 acre hangar by myself, and picked up rocks from the concrete taxiway. Big day in Big Blue. ::)

Well 3 stepsforwar and 2 back became at least 6 back the last few days, took 4 EMTs to get me out to the ambulance this morning.  Good news is not my heart or lungs.  The conclusion and still waiting on tests is that my ciatic ciatic nerve is being pressured.at the trunk by some sort infectionthey ket me, third trip to Er since Sunday. One on Tuesday they had to 5 drag me off the couch.

Copy and pasted from my other coffee group

Quick up date, I can not walk.  Some sort of what appears to be a muscular swelling possibility from an infection is pushing on my sciatic nerve.

Waiting on tests should be here by morning, neural surgeon was in. If I am lucky antibiotics will fix it, but need to find exact nature of it.

Could also require surgery to be fixed.

Lot likely but still a possibility I may be a low end paraplegic the rest of my life.

No need to sugar coat it, I decided I like him, no BSing.

Hopefully have more answers in the morning.

I also think it says draw blood till he turns pale.

I am good spirits despite the fact this sucks.  We were laughing earlier about the white board thing saysto call for help if I want to get.  Why would I want to get up, they bring me everything I want with in ther power. And it only hurts rea bad if I try to move

It's good that your spirit and sense of humor are still intact. Or just good drugs. Let's hope antibiotics are the fix.

I know you feel that it shouldn't be sugarcoated, but a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. At least Mary Poppins claims it's so.

Glen getting older is not for Sissies! Now give me my yardstick back.

Major Prayers for your mother and your family.

I am unable to get out. Doctor doesn’t advise any more than a few minutes at a time.
So to fill in the endless hours of boredom , I have taken up painting and sketching.  So it occupies my time.
I have out lived the original expectancy from doc’s. So I am thankful.

Y’all keep it out of the ditches.

Morning all.

Took a nice hike/fishing/elk season scouting trip yesterday into the Bob Marshal Wilderness. Determined that there are in fact elk and bears in the woods, so I suppose the idiom about bears and the woods is likely true. I’m going on a backcountry elk hunt this fall with some guys from my unit, and since they cut the 4 of us going on the trip loose at 9am, we decided to take advantage of this opportunity.

This morning I’m going through Amazon looking for books to read in the desert. There’s one I am trying to find, but I don’t remember the title or author. I can tell you exactly where it is on the shelf at the library in my hometown, but that’s it. So far no luck.

Very slow attendance yesterday, was no one till about 1pm the maybe 6 couples between 1 and 3
and then zip till 6pm closing.

Excitement at the home front as woods about 1/2 mile away was set ablaze by a kid.
Lots of SMOKE and heavy ash fell on my place, my wife said. SHE called the FD, they put it out, and the cops nabbed the kid, with the help of a witness.

Just went and warmed up my coffee, and wishing you all good day  :)

Hmmm

lots of esoteric air traffic lately.

C5A's Hercy Birds, all coming and going much more than usual...

I was on a 767.

At the moment I am at a WiFi -having Subway restaurant in Africa. It’s rather toasty here.

Beautiful day today here with the most fun thing happening. Our littlest g'niece here, Molly, who is 16 months old has been on the verge of walking and Mama has been going nuts. Well my Missus and Molly's Mom took the two oldest girls to a beach and while they were gone, Molly took off walking with Dad and I here. We got video and they were thrilled when they got home.
Fun day!
TK, you be careful!

A 767! that is MUCH more comfortable than a C-130!

I hope you have the buddy system.

Del called this morning, in good sprit. He asked I relay "he's still kicking."
But hasn't been posting on Cas City, as all he has is his phone to type with.

He's out of the Hospital and settled into a 1/2 way assisted care facility for about 2 1/2 weeks.
Using a walker, he's getting around some, he said.
He hopes to be going home in early June.

Afternoon all. At least I think it’s afternoon over there. I could be wrong.

I’ve arrived at my final destination in The Heart of Darkness. I have air conditioning though, so i can’t really complain. We have WiFi here, as I’m sure you’ve noticed. Not much goes on other than turning wrenches on airplanes.

The African Continent is coming to us, in the form of a huge Sahara dust cloud that has been
showcasing our sunsets.
With exception of the overcast & thunderstorms yesterday & Friday.

Observing Armed Forces Day...
We grilled 22 packages of Ballpark Franks (176) dogs & 25 pounds of burgers, all but 4 dogs
were consumed.
I was not privy as to the #'s of chip's, soft drinks and bottled water served.

All was free including admission and we had a crowd of folks.

I was able to work on the tribute to Native American exhibit. It is a work in progress, because I haven't a lot of artifacts.

Howdy Y'all, I got a text from Del,He says he's getting better and can think and talk again, although all of them a bit slow. Food is decent.Nurses are great, but he seems to be the youngest on the floor and doesn't crab all the time.Place along with a lot of other rehab hospitals are run by Congessalist(sp?) He's not real happy about that, but a minor thing considering he's in one of the best rehab in the area. He's looking at getting out around 6/6/2022

(Those never abate)

Del called, said "He is blocked for Cas City, apparently some kinda Jandra (gun) Blocker."
He said they moved his release day to June 23. seems it will be better as to the frequency of his anti's infusion 4 times daily.
Hopes to get his Desktop in the next day or so (Care facility approved it being brought in) so he can work on his Facebook Dutch oven site.

62 here right now, working on coffee. Good time at the Graduation yesterday, the Kindergardners had us all cracking up. Supposed to hit 75 today and low 80s over the weekend. Roger, thanks for the update on Del and the link, glad you're on the mend.Putting up a new flag today, the old one was damaged in a storm last week, gotta find out if the local VFW can oversee the proper disposal of the damaged one.

Sure thing, Kevin
I was happy to hear from him, he's keeping in touch with a few other too, I think.

One of our services is to be a receptor for honored flags that have reached their service cycle.
We then hand them over to the VFW.
Your local VFW will provide proper disposal

I credit the Pfizer duo & booster I got last year that made it less sever, and chamomile tea!

Morning all.

Currently 105 degrees on the Dark Continent.  They let me off shift early because I was “working too hard,” whatever that means. At the time I was reading through our Safety Data Sheets to make sure they were up to date. But I’ll take it.

Waiting for laundry to finish so I can put it away and take a shower, then off to catch some z’s.

Wake up everyone, we’re back up and running!  Been meaning to wish everyone who has been on the sick list a speedy recovery.

Major 2
Hope you and your better half get better soon.

Del
Sorry to hear about your past setback, glad to see you’re making a good recovery.

I’m going into my second year without teeth.  Looks like late August or sometime in September before I get that steak.

Not much going on here in the Biggest Little City, except the weather still hasn’t settled down yet.  Had a few nights of below freezing, but it seems we may be making headway starting today.  Nothing lower than 40 for the next 10 days.  Almost 40 degree shift form overnight lows to daytime highs, but that’s about normal around here.

Morning all. Or afternoon. Dang these time zones.  ::)

It’s 107 as of 2am, with enough humidity to drown a frog.

Major, make sure you and the Mrs drink lots of fluids. And be careful taking zinc. Found out the hard way (and confirmed with others) that it apparently will “come back north for a visit,” if taken on a Covid-stomach. Ain’t a great experience.
