Bullets/Moulds

quigleysharps4570:
Was curious as to what bullets or bullet moulds everyone is using for their 45-60's?

Hell-Er High Water:
In both my 45-75 and my shooting pardner's 45-60 we are using the RCBS 45-325-FN-U bullet with good results with both black powder and smokeless.

Out of No. 2 alloy, this bullet drops from my mould at 335 gr +/-.

When crimped in the crimping groove this bullet gives an overall cartridge length of 2.250" in both cartridges.

The RCBS two cavity mould produces bullets at a pretty good rate to support both of our shooting habits.

Grizzly Adams:
I am casting my 45-60 and 45-75 bullets from original Winchester molds.  They are single cavity, of course, but I got lots of time!   The molds can sometimes be found on e-bay and other auction sites. :)

Tommy tornado:
I have a hollow point Lyman that I am going to use for hunting, and then I am going to purchase a 292 (I think Lyman) grain mould in the coming months.

Thanks guys.
Might give that RCBS one a try HHW.
Grizz I'd sure like to see pics of the bullet and mould...seeings how you've lots of time...shouldn't be a problem.  :)
Been eyeballing that hollow point mould myself TT.
