« Last post by Coffinmaker on Today at 08:22:30 AM » Joe I'm just kinda sorta Piling On here. Ya know, "Plays Well with Others" sort of thing. I shoot a lot of APP. Seriously a LOT of APP. Easiest clean-up of any of the Propellants. There are several other good points though. APP requires no Lube. At'z right. No Lubes. None. Nada. Zero. Zilch. You can shoot Nudie Bullets all day. If you happen to find you have a goodly pile of Smokeless Lubed bullets, just go shoot 'em. APP don't care if there is Crayon Lube. Great stuff.

they make a valid point based on real data that TrailBoss
is a fluffy smokeless and IS NOT a BP sub or for older guns.
SR4759 has an almost identical pressure curve as Black Powder, and apears to perform somewhere between FFFg and FFg

My regular match combo is a pair of custom RM converted Colt 1861 Navy replicas, .38 Long Colt cal. when I am competing in the Cattle Baron cat.
In Classic Cowboy I either use a pair of Centaure Long Cylinder Conversions (LCCs) with 4" barrel or a pair with 5,5" barrels, caliber is .44 Colt.

I have used some 777 in .38's for rifle some years back because it was easy to find locally. 777 in a .38 seemed to recoil about the same as FFFg BP in a .357 in that rifle. APP is the most popular sub for good reason. But hardly any stores carry it so usually you will have to mail order, then you get into hazmat, etc. Natchez is carrying Shooter's World Multi-Black (made by APP for Shooter's World). I finally ran out of the can of APP that I opened in 2013 so I added a few cans of Multi-Black to my Natchez order when I was ordering primers and other powder.

« Last post by BrushyCreekDouglas on Yesterday at 10:07:07 PM »I always make those borders using a hand CS Osborne embossing wheel. It's very close to the shape and size on some original FA Meanea and Al Furstnow pieces in my collection. I don't know if they still make those or not.
Do you have any idea of the model numbers?
