Have wanted to make a set of holsters in the John Wayne style for a while and finally got around to doing so. I finished these in a dark brown dye. They house 5.5" Ruger or Colt style revolvers.

Hey Rube, those look great.  How did you dye them?  Did you use dark brown straight or did you dilute the dye?  Pro or regular?

I made my attempt at a John Wayne rig, probably about three years or more ago.

I used the Fiebings Pro Dye Dark Brown full strength. Once dried I rubbed with Tan Kote.
