Roo, are you going to let that wood season and use it in a smoker?

I was going to ask the same thing.

Afternoon all.

Day off work for me today. Next week will be 48 hours for me, which isn't much but feels like a lot at a convenience store. 6 day week, too. The check won't be bad though.

Took my girlfriend to a show jumping lesson today. She used to be a dreassage trainer, and now wants to learn jumping. So that was interesting. Different bunch of people than I am used to.

I can't speak to battery powered chainsaws, but my dad has a corded electric saw. It works pretty well for cutting >18" logs to firewood length, and if you bring the generator, it will work.

TK And Major we will use some of the Pecan ourselves- we are sharing some with a neighbor who has a larger smoker and Justin who has one like ours. We also have oak and hickory here on the farm. We police up falling branches and limbs for smoking and grilling. Along with lump charcoal

Coffee is up

Had a very large Pecan branch break half off.  It now blocks the drive near the barn. Will see if I can get step son here to help get it at least off the driveway.  This happened between like 4 and 6 pm. We both had driven under it several times yesterday.  This branch is 12 inches at trunk and 25 foot long. Typical old growth Pecan.

Quit yer bitching, brother sent this yesterday.

It can wait till fall and cooler weather at least.

I was singing the ladder/ latter yesterday as we cut ours up.

We got one that big down. We occasionally shoot something into the root ball.  The tree it self is not in the way.

Morning Coffee is ready...  about 10 or 12 drops of rain here the past 3 days- flooding 20 minutes away, and other storm damages. Looks like more of the same to start week.

Picked the first figs yesterday morning- looked over the Sponge bushes. Going to be a good crop of them as well :o

Stay hydrated ya?ll

Good morning folks! Pouring rain here right now and the temps are gonna be decent most of this week. Today's plan involves the garage and still working on getting some frozen screws out of a Winchester 12. Raising my cup to you !

Building ant moats for the hummingbird feeders

Ate your feeders on free-standing poles or something? Mine hang from the eaves, so building a moat is difficult.

Flew to Wyoming last night.  It was bumpy, but went well.

TK  ;D  ;D-  I believe you have a better variety of Hummingbirds out there.

Coffee is up... light rain this morning clearing skies now.  I suspect  it will get humid shortly.

Howdy folks, a very pretty day shaping up here. Plans are to fight with the Winchester screws some more, and stain the stock on a Rossi 92 I have. Great little rifle mechanically, but it has the ugliest wood on it! Pale, very little grain but well shaped. I figger some cherry / walnut mix will make it look decent at least!

Morning all.

Warm and humid here today.  I have work in an hour, then going to a movie afterwards. The new Lion King.

When I worked at the gun shop a couple years ago, we refinished one of those Rossi's. All we had on hand was walnut, and it came out okay. I think that cherry will really make it complete.

I had one of the pre safety Rossi 92's that had a black finish on the stock and fore end, I used WD-40 to remove it and it had a nicely figured piece of wood underneath. I wish I had kept that one, But a friend wanted it more than I did and offered me more than I paid for it.
