The Newest Citizen and I just got back from voting. As of about 1PM, there were 201 votes cast in our precinct, out of 488 registered. We're one of the more rural areas of our county. By the time the after work voters show up, we'll be way over the national average voter participation, I think. No waiting in line, plenty of time to chat with others at the polling place. After lunch, back to the re-modeling of our new abode. Almost done, just need to trim out the new floor, and fix a hole in the sheet rock above the sink, and we can be moving in! But still a lot of work outside, laying block (It's a double wide, and I dislike plastic underpinning-it'll be concrete) and some siding work on one end. Then push some more dirt around and build porches, so we don't have to wade through the red clay and climb the stacked up concrete blocks to get in.
Oh, and just to get some arguments going, lunch is chili- with beans. My Mom made it that way, and her mom....
