The movie that made me fall in love with the Henry was Silverado.  While not the best western out there, there was some very nice scenes with the rifle.

I noted..and can't understand why I did not catch it before  :-\

In A few Dollars More Eastwood (Man with no Name) hold a Volcanic rifle on the Mexican in the final gun fight with Col. Mortimer (Lee Van Cleef) just as he gives Mortimer his own gun & belt.

Major, you're thinking of "Ft Dobbs" with Clint Walker & Brian Keith was the guy with the crates of "Hollywood Henrys" aka Model 92 Win. Probably the first movie to feature an Uberti Henry was "Sacred Ground" in 1983.

People, this thread was beat to death last year. Do a search.  ;)

Brent.....If we're talking about real Henrys, I can go you one better. Try "The Far Country" ooops, should have been "The Man From Laramie" with James Stewart, I believe 1956. Jane Darwell  (Grapes of Wrath, etc;) the old lady in the buck board that breaks up the fight between Stewart and the Boss's weeny son is carrying a original Henry Rifle.

I misspoke.." Nevada Smith comes to mind but I don't remember Henrys... But he was a Gun dealer with a wagon load .

In Navada Smith Keith is Gun Dealer... no wagon load of Henry's, he is horse packing his wares..

As far as beaten  :-* ..I started the other Movie Henry's thread... and in my humble opinion the subject is interesting ...if only for the triva.

I have recently purchased a Uberti Henry in 45 Colt. I had wanted one for a long time and because they look "cool". I didn't have a rifle in 45 Colt and a got a food deal on this one. I plan on shootin' BP in it.

FCK,

Got my Henry about 3 1/2 weeks ago.  Never came to this particular board before then as my only rifle was a model 73.  Ain't ashamed of my age either!  Plan on being here another 40 years or so!  :o ;)  See you this weekend, that is if I remember what you look like!  ;D

Legal pursuits aren't near as much FUN as a good pistol whipping! ::) :o ::) ;D ;D

I  look forward to shootin' that thing using BP. I've never shot BP before.  I didn;t get to shoot very much CAS till I retired from Law Enforcement.  I've shot a bunch of Smokeless in my LE revolvers and semi-autos over the last almost 40 years.

The Blue and the Grey use an original Spencer converted to center fire.  In the 80's I used an original Spencer rifle and Carbine both converted to centerfire in Civil War reenacting.  They were great.

Reenactors were using the Henry rifle at events in the early 1980's so....I wonder if they weren't being used as early as that in the movies? Any help here with this question? I don't know for sure if one was one in the TV series "The Blue&the Grey"? I know they used a Spencer replica.

I briefly owned the Spencer converted to centerfire that Stacy Keatch used in Blue and Gray.  Very cool!  Bought it from the original owner on the Spencer Shooting Society list.

Haha!  That's right, Roger, you should know, you sold it to me!  Of all the guns I had to sell, that one hurt the most...

One of the best movies regarding the Henry is a film called "Sacred Ground" starring Tim McIntire and Jack Elam (not the documentary of the same name)  Its about a Mountain Man (who sports a frontstuffer) who gets his 1/2 Indian child stolen by an Indian tribe - the Mountain Man built his cabin with his indian wife on the tribe's Sacred burial Ground.  The wife is killed by the tribe when they tear down the cabin, with her inside the cabin, but the child is born and lives.  The Mountain man wants the child back and he sees this new invention - a Henry Reeeepeater - which he steals from the trading post and he "invades" the indian camp to reclaim his child.  He uses the superior Henry fire power to battle the Indians trying to steal back the child, who they believe has the power of the spirits because it was born on Sacred Ground.  The star of the show is the Henry Rifle.  I have a copy of the video, but the price on Amazon is OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

http://www.amazon.com/Sacred-Ground-Eloy-Casados/dp/B00068S3SM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1244051440&sr=1-1

Pretty good flick.
