Title: Round Hole Punch Sharpener
Post by: 1961MJS on September 29, 2023, 03:04:43 PM
Hi
Has anybody used these?  I've only got one hole punch that could use this and it's kind of bent.  They seem to all come from China though.

I haven't tried one of those. For that matter, I didn't know they existed. The design idea looks sound. If you get one, post back here how it works.

As dull as punches seem to be when you buy them these days, they should give one free when you buy a new set.

I bought one some time ago.  Works well with my round punches.  Not so much with my ovals 😂😂😂

I was just wondering what a good way would be to sharpen a punch. I recently bought a brand new carfttool punch and that thing is super dull. Pretty sad to buy a tool that is meant for cutting and it comes so dull it won't do it't intended job.

Punches don't seem to be made sharp any more. That's probably due to being made in China. Pride of manufacturing is a thing of the past. If you want sharp, expect to do it yourself. Here's a link to the thread where I explain how I sharpen them (https://www.cascity.com/forumhall/index.php?topic=68160.0).
