Morning y'all.
Coffee and tea are ready.

'Tis 43 and cloudy. "Mostly cloudy in the morning then clearing. A chance of sprinkles in the morning. Highs in the lower 70s. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph."

Presently 66° , Cloudy with a high of 76 °F  and a 55% chance of precipitation.

"SWWBO" made a spiral ham for Easter repast, So I am enjoying my coffee with leftover ham & a biscuit this morning.

I have a stash of once fired 30 06 Milsurp brass I am going to de-prime and wet tumble.
I've actually never ventured into this, not sure if it's folly  :-\
Lee Universal de-prime dye did not have the oomph to use my press to overcome the crimp.
So, I resorted to a hand pin punch and a homemade shell holder Dealie.
This setup works reasonably well. The Lee shell holder is for a handheld primer I had no other need for.
I JB welded it to the birch ply base for both a pocket for a spent primer to fall and to stabilize the contraption.
The Brass is head stamped L C  and either 72 or 77, I'm of the opinion Lack City Arsenal and the years of manufacture.
I'm not sure as to what they were fired from, I'm assuming a Garand because they came with EM Block clips. Thay also dial indicator to the correct OAL so trimming may not be necessary ?

I ordered a pocket ream for the crimp removal, but note a countersink and cordless drill used on Utube  ???

Anyway, new venture for me,  I'm open to comments  ???

Morning all! Contractors are here and already well underway installing the new windows on our back porch, looking forward to this. Easter was great here after services we got home and family came over for dinner and laughs. My Niece brought a girl with them that rides the bus to their church, she doesn't have much of a home, so she was kind of overwhelmed by our crew, but by the end of the afternoon she was grinning and had a good time. Supposed to be nice today, lifting my cup to you all.
Major, that Lake City brass is great stuff, but it is a pain to clean, ream, etc. I always just got commercial brass to run when I could, guess I am just lazy.

I have excitable boy on vinyl.    The best.   I am a big fan of Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner.   Back in my youth, we did a lot of RPG gaming, including an old west version (Boot Hill).    Ran a campaign in old mexico where we were being chased by the ghost of a norwegian Roland the Headless Dragoon.   Nerds, what ya going to do.

One of my guilty faves of Warren is Frank and Jesse James.    Check it out, very flattering to the James boys.

Mogorilla, I do some RPGing and tabletop gaming too. Never have played Boot Hill, but it sure looks like fun.

Major 2, I got one of the RCBS swage tools to remove primer crimps and it works great. Before that, I used a lee case neck reamer to do it( it's the one that is cone shaped, about an inch long by 3/4" diameter) -about 2-3 cases and the hand cramps start. So far I used it on a bunch of 5.56 brass, some 7.62 Nato, and some 8mm Mauser that had really tight primer pockets.

Thats about 3-4 whacks to pop out the primer,
then 1 1/2 hours in my tumbler with Lemon Shine & Turtle Zip wax.
They were unsized in this particular photo, nor pocket reamed.
I haven't received the Lyman reamer from Amazon yet.

I have 3 new unopened 50 round bags of 30 06 and probably 150 new hand loaded rounds.
In addition, a bin of my fired brass already cleaned & de-primed.
I just felt, these 80 gifted Lack City brass should be processed also....

If I were going to do 100's I would invest into the RCBS or Dillon Swage tool.

That Lyman tool looks like it wouldn't be too bad to use, unlike the tiny Lee tool. It actually has a handle!

Went to appointment today, they reason I've been so tired is I have pneumonia in both lungs again.  Got antibiotics Z stuff for 3 days, if it gets worse I'm to either call Dr if open or go to the ER.  O2's are stay above the danger zone. ::)

It warmer there than here, Del....
We've been in the mid 70's and breezy- p cloudy the last couple od days.
Today's high will be 77 ° and a 61% chance of precipitation. Winds ENE at 14 to 17 mph.

Z-pak is potent stuff should do the trick.

Not a good idea right now, a lot of smoke in the air from grass fires.

Deacon, if you have a group you play with that are fans of westerns, Boot Hill (with some tweeks) is fun.    I played in the 80s, college roommates and we all liked westerns.   It was a good time.   Still have the books, but not played in eons.   Tweeks we made were some firearm issues.   I remember they had cap and ball revolvers only having a 50% chance of firing.   Since that was all I shot until 1996, I vehemently disagreed.   Little things like that.    As I recall it is only one book that I bet can be bought online.

Mogorilla I am not sure if Boot Hill is still being played, but there is a current tabletop western game out there. I will find out and let you know. Labor Day weekend I will be at a game convention in Denton TX, if nothing else I will be able to hunt it up then.

I have three sets of Old West rules I have used.

One year at the National I took a pre-decorated wooden card table, structures and about 30 painted 15mm Western figures and we set it up in the primitive camp site for play testing. Wrote several scenarios for trial.

The three rules sets I  have are:
"Blood & Bullets"
"Rules With No Name"
"A Town Called Malice"

As a matter of fact, it was Trap, Books, Yuma Kid and myself who had fun with it.
"I was born by the river in a little tent, and just like the river I've been running ever since." - Sam Cooke
"He who will not look backward with reverence, will not look forward with hope." - Edmund Burke
