Morning y'all.
Coffee and iced tea are ready.

Melting pot is heating. Gonna get .45-70 bullets cast.

'Tis 74, sunny and humid. "Mostly cloudy. A chance of showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon. Highs in the lower 80s. West wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 30 percent."

Winds of 87 mph last night at the airport, think they were maybe 75 mph at work.   Window was sure bowing in the gusts, I was on the inside register, just kept it going, Jake was on the outside one, but was stocking groceries, the truck came in just before the storm.  I would have asked him to step away from the window if he was on the register.

Business slowed down some, but never stopped, some waited the worst out inside, gave out some plastic bags to put cell phones in.

Morning all.

Del, sounds like y'all could have used some of the weather out here.  85 degrees with a steady 4mph breeze from the cool north.   ::)  We have more of the same today.

My plans for the day include walking the dog, and eating.  Beyond that, I'm pretty open.   I'd like to go get my new rifle today, but I'll be down there tomorrow and I can't really justify buying a half tank of gas extra right now.  :-\

Confirmed, we had a tornado touch down in Lincoln last night, itty bitty one, didn't last long.

About a 1 1/2 miles from work and 1/2 mile from Mom's house.  Ironic, well inside the city limits and it touches down in one of UNL's cornfields.   ;D

I made some 405gr RNFP and 500gr RN.

Now it's time to lube/size 'em, then stuff 'em in cases.

I think you might be shooting two different weapons?  Sod Buster and i were at a Dulles Gun Show several years ago. I bought some 525 Gr. RN. They were not as bad as the x59R what ever the cal is fir Mosin Nagant. But they did pack a wallup.  I think for the 1895 CB .405 grain is plenty.  It would get whatever target i would aim at.

Yes, I am loading for my Trapdoor. I did shoot some 500gr in my fish gun, but they hurt.

I used to shoot 405 grain with 63.5 grains of FFg Black Powder in my Fish rifle, worked good enough to win a long range lever side match at our state championship a couple of years ago. Had a .45 cal wonder wad between the powder and bullet.

I bet they did! You must have seated them pretty deep, they few rounds I have left loaded with the 500gr military profile bullet won't function through mine.

They were seated the normal depth. I had to single load. I could not eject a live round, had to take the bolt out.

Speaking of melting, I saw some pictures from a forest fire in Portugal, looked pretty bad, bunch of cars on the highway caught up in it. Hope it's not close to you!
