I bought mine from Palmetto State Armory and had it shipped to my local FFL. They have a couple of slightly different models, but below is the one that I got (for $299 plus shipping, tax and local transfer fee).  I must say that I'm very impressed. It has been completely reliable. I used to be a 1911 armorer at the agency where I worked, so I did a careful inspection and slight smoothing and tweaking. It has an excellent trigger pull. I don't plan to carry it (mostly because of the GI sights) but I wouldn't feel under armed. I highly recommend it (based on my experience with one example).

PS They're $320 as of this writing...

The Winchester Model 1876 / Re: 1st outing with the 40/60

Sure, King.  This is one of a couple of '73's I worked on over 15 years ago.  You can see the lighter colored area where I filed on it.  Just had some little hand files, took a long time and I broke one.  ;)  I didn't trust myself to get in there with a dremel.

This is looking up from the bottom of the mortice (opening) with the carrier removed.  You can see bevels on the side wall and back that were there from the factory.  That bevel doesn't make it over to the loading gate side, and that is where the rim hangs for the last round loaded.  Lately on the SASS Wire some folks were talking about filing/grinding away a lot more than I did, to match that factory bevel all the way over to the loading gate side.  I don't know, but the small amount I filed has worked on a couple of rifles that I did it on.  I'd try a little first before getting out the heavy duty power tools.  :)  I'm not sure what the factory bevels look like on a '76 but I expect similar.  Good luck.

Palmetto and others had it under $300 in that time frame.  Would have been a steal for anyone in a position to pick one up in person.

CAS City Classifieds / Wyoming Ranger Badge
Last post by Yakima Red - Yesterday at 05:53:46 PM
Howdy. Some time ago I found a reproduction badge for the Wyoming Rangers. Very short lived group before statehood. I'm having a hard time finding it again. It is similar to the Colorado ranger badge in that it is a starburst design. If anyone has some information or has one they would like to sell It would be most appreciated.
