Lyman lube sizer, saved it !!!
« on: December 06, 2021, 12:50:03 PM »
Well i needed a .407 sizer & luber, for my 40-60 win., so i got on my SB 9 and made one, "almost", i over bored it  :-[ got mad, told myself just how "DUMB" i was (am) "experience is surviving our mistakes", i am not a machinist, but i'm trying.
Throwed it in the trash, went in the house, (mumble- mumble), about 2:00 AM, i had an ideal, over bore it some more, and make a sleeve, and rebore it ;D yup! saved it!!! Used a boring bar get it close to .406+, polished the inside (fair), bored 4 sets of holes thru, put in my Lyman 450, worked like it should. My bullets cast @ .407, but wanted to ck for roundness & lube, the bullets do have a few scratches but i just shoot paper. Some of the times we get upset or out of sorts and "WE" stop thinking. >:(
Hope this is in the right place?

It’s good to know how to unscrew something that you just screwed up. What do you have to loose?
