gryffon2004:  Go to the 'Calling All WartHogs' post.  I modified it with the definition of a WartHog.  If ya qualify, list your firearms with calibers of 4x and the loads you shoot on that topic.

If ya is what ya say ... Not a problem.  I'll add you to the Honor Roll.  Then ya MUST add the Word ... WartHog to your signature ... for all the Pards of the World to see.

Thats done.  I didnt list all of my toys because they're not relevant to cas.  Ive been using factory CAS ammo for now until I get enough brass collected.

Well Pard,
I think the 900fps out of the pistols is more for the targets protection than anything else.   ;D
Plus, if you start pushing those lead pills too fast you get to much of it left in the gun.  ;)
Time to fold,

SASS rule states: "Revolver ammunition must have a muzzle velocity less than 1,000 fps. Rifle ammunition must have a muzzle velocity less than 1,400 fps. Shooters may be held responsible for damage caused to a target or injury to personnel due to “bounce-back” because of inappropriate ammunition. This major safety violation is grounds for “instant disqualification” and ejection from the match."

Okay, I though i read it had to be under 900 fps.  Are the rifle velicities the same for long range, like the sharps or something where you need some umpff to reach 600 or 800 yards?

Go to the following link to find the Shooters Handbook. http://www.sassnet.com/Shooters-Handbook-001A.php
The Long Range Rifle rules start on page 18. There is no mention of a maximum velocity, but with a pill of 500+ grs the velocity will be in the 1,100 - 1,250 fps range.

I believe that would be up to John Boy and Manatee to ask.
