What's the best way to remove a buttstock from a 1865 Spencer?  I'm making a spanner wrench for under the buttplate.  Anything special to know?
    Thanks in advance, Brian

Hello, WVMTNMAN:

Lots of potential issues removing the butt stock.  Please PM me your email address and I will send my file on it.  Please do not attempt now to remove the stock. Twisting the outer mag tube nut can create serious issues.  Thanks.

It was actually a lot easier than I thought it would be.  Was going to fix a stock Crack but the issue is, the wood is too thin.  As it has dried over the years and shrunk, it split.  Need a new stock or make a metal patch of some type if it is going to be shot
