Could you please help me ?

I am shooting a Uberti 1876 in .45-60 with 300gr lead bullets.
So far I still have a bit AA5744 powder left, but cannot get any US powder here in Switzerland/Europe anymore.
Some kind of newer EU regulation with cancer stuff. Don't know the excat reason, anyhow lets not drift into politics.

I can get a Swiss made powder called RS 14 , which is made according to the producer to Trailboss specs. The producer recommended Trailboss loads minus 5% as starting base.

So to test that, I would need some Trailboss loading datas for .45-60

Thanks for your help.

So, the only question I see is asking for help. What help do you need, specifically? Trail boss loads? Fill the case up to the bottom of the bullet, no compaction, about 11.0 grains.

I thought I was wrong once, but I was mistaken.

Yes, please give me some Trailboss powder loading datas for .45-60 with a 300gr lead bullet.

Thanks a lot

Slainte,

From the 49th Lyman Ed of Reloading Handbook (I do not have the newest Ed) it lists the following:

Lyman 457191 (292 grain) --- Trail Boss 10.5 grains - 1069fps  TO   14.8 grains  -  1256fps

Lyman 457122 (330 grain) --- Trail Boss 10.0 grains - 992fps   TO   13.0 grains  -  1098fps

Hope this helps and sorry it is all, I have.  I too loaded my latest casings with 5744.  With Trail Boss back on US retailer shelves, I am thinking of getting some, to try.

Let us know how you like your results, after choosing a load and shooting your rounds.
