Smith carbine

Yes I know this is the Spencer shooting society, but I figure the must be some crossover in ownership or experience and I haven't found a forum dedicated to it, plus we have some very knowledgeble members here.
I recently purchase a bunch of stuff from a gunsmith's estate auction and to my great surprise I found a Smith carbine receiver comple except for the fact it has no barrel. Does anyone know of a source or if the pietta repro barrels would fit an original. They're a pretty cool gun and I would like to ressurect this one. Any help is appreciated

A good Forum for Smith carbine info is the N-SSA's. North-South Skirmish Association. Need the hyphen, N-SSA Forum. 

Please search its Forum for Smith Carbine info and take the time to carefully read all you can find. Smith's can be nice, but have quirks, as do ALL CW era originals and repro's.

Next, the N-SSA Forum includes that some Pietta Smith carbine barrels had bore issues. Many were replaced or lined. Ask Bobby.

I just happen to have an original Smith barrel. It is my spare, but I sold the carbine it was a spare for. Bore has some light frosting but no pits, probably 90%. Finish is probably 90% blue with mixed salt and pepper spots. It has a lug attached, with a different serial number, but no sights. I shot it while the barrel on that carbine was at Bobby Hoyt's getting lined and it shoots great.

I can bring it up to the N-SSA national if you will be there.
