Chiappa Spencer Front Sight Too Low?

My Spencer in 56-50 has a front sight post that seems to sit too low. At 25-30 yards my point of impact is 6 inches higher than my point of aim. Has anyone else had this issue? How did you resolve it?

Try it at 100.

My rear sight has a little notch at the bottom. If I don't bury my front sight down into that notch, my bullets hit high as well. I don't know if that is what is happening to you, but when I've let other shooters try my gun, they often don't notice that tiny notch and tend to shoot high.

   Ah well now.  Think about it for just a moment.  The replica rifles of which you speak are mostly accurate replicas of Nineteenth century stuff.  Sights were factory regulated to be "close" at about a hundred yards with the then available ammunition.  They are ALL going to be like that when "right out of the box."
