Good morning,

Would love to join the Spencer group. Am N-SSA member that just purchased a Armisport Spencer Carbine for competition.

First question will be how to remove the reduction rod from the magazine follower without damaging the follower.
The reduction rod prevents no more than 5 rounds loaded. Is the rod pressed in or screwed?

Thanks!

Dan E

Looking to join the Spencer Shooting Society. Own a 1860 Spencer 3 band 30 inch barrel rifle serial number 3606 along with a Blakeslee Box (all original box and rifle). Thank you for letting me join!

KneverKnew

KneverKnew here.
I obtained my Spencer/Bannerman 1890 shotgun from the estate of a good friend who passed away last year. I'm looking for all the help I can find to service and maintain this old girl.

Ruble Noon

Howdy from North Texas. I have wanted a Spencer carbine in 56-50 since watching Unforgiven a few decades ago.

I've read all I could find about the Spencer.  Most don't know it was issued to all Cavalry units west of the Mississippi following the Civil War.  It was THE primary shoulder arm during the majority of the Indian Wars, then issued to scouts, guides, and tribal Police after 1873. Those who say it was anemic haven't read about the men who relied in them post 1865.  It truly was a powerhouse in its day.

The stars aligned 2 years ago and I got a Taylor's in mint condition.  I found Kevin Tinny online and he's a godsend. I shot a big 6 point last fall with it and need to load more ammo.
Thanks for letting me hang out and learn.

Oh, I grew up reading Louis L'Amour,  hence the screen name.
