For the most part, that was pretty positive, but there were a couple of remarks that perhaps would have been better left unsaid - like about the super sniper rifle capable of "cutting a goat in half" at some great distance.

The REAL reason Canadians don't walk down the street with a gun over their shoulder is they have an aversion to being taken down by an ERT with drawn guns after several "man-with-a-gun" calls were made to 911 by paranoid members of the public.

There was a time you could do so without raising eyebrows. In my youth, we took our .22'a to school once a year for a "show-and-tell" and to '0' them on the highschool indoor range.

Now a kid with a BB gun in the backyard is going to become the subject of an armed response. I've read comments on Canadian web sites to the effect that grown men are leery of being seen cleaning their guns by neighbours.

As our PM embraces the UN protocol on Small Arms Control, we look for further restrictions, classifications and prohibitions.
