Couldn't get in here since Monday morning.
Rita is in the hospital with a staph infection, the same strain she had in 2021 and I had last year. They don't think we are giving it to each other. Was weird, she got in after work at Costco Monday, she could not tell me what she sampled, would go into gibberish and not make sense. Other stuff was ok pretty much. I thought maybe she had had a stroke, her coworkers did her clean up because she looked tired. Anyway against her protest we went to ER, she walked in and told them I made her come in but she was OK, I told her to tell them what at work today and more of the same gibberish, they took her back, no waiting. I went and parked the car, had a Dr and 4 nurses in the room. He had theses laminated sheets she had to read to them, tell them what the pictures were, played the touch your nose, touch my fingers and the Dr said she seemed fine. Told him to ask her what she did at work today, he did and more gibberish. They unbraked the bed and told me they were headed to do a cat scan and would be back. They came back, no stroke, but she was in A Fib. They told her she wasn't going home. After a couple hours they assured me she wan not in any immediate danger, so I went home. The chair and her nasty glares were killing me. Got a call early (for me) Tuesday from Neuro Dr, telling me nothing neuro was wrong, but was a staph infection.
I called her and she was a little bit nicer to me and I said the Dr had called me and told me she had a staph infection and she got upset and told me it was bacterial. Had a quick microbiology class and she told me to google it. Told her I paid attention in school and had read up on it last year besides what they told me and she was right, it was bacterial and I was too because I more specific on the type, being rod shaped bacteria.

She posted what happened on FB and all her friends and such told her she was lucky she had such a smart and alert husband.

Yes you can win sometimes. She was totally crazy not partly in 2021 when I took her in, seems with a staph she goes into A Fib and that makes her a bit off in the head.
She may get home in a day or so, will have to do IV antibiotics till it's gone, then they put a new port in and back to chemo. They think it is actually shrinking but will wait in the MRI on that. If it's shrinking an extra 3-4 weeks between treatments won't hurt. If it's not it still likely won't make a difference.
Slim, I will tell you the same thing I told Jerry, if anyone asks how I'm doing and her if they know, just start out with "you won't believe this shit."

Oh, she is no longer mad at me, brought her a gyro tonight from her favorite place, in fact more than normal nicey nice.

I did remind her this is the 5th time I've saved her life by making her go to the ER, the Dr or calling 911, not quit true, if the chemo works and we get it at least into remission will make it #5. I am fairly sure if nothing else I gave her more time. You don't last long if you can't poop and pee at all and she was very close to that in March.
I'm going to bed, smoke is mild again and my O2's are up. Oh talked with the Drs and we will wait to test me till or if I shows signs of having it again. See even if you have no infection you can test positive for staph because we all have them in and on our body. It's when they find a week place and attack it that it's a problem, my Dr and the infectious disease Dr says the same and my research confirms it and no not WEB MD. My Drs laugh when I mention doing research and not WEB MD. Asked one one time if John Hopkins was a reliable site.

He told me he wished more people knew how to do research like that. And even at that I don't read just one. And I may be showing some because Pneumonia is one possibility. Got over the last one but not sure if it ain't coming again, had to tell with the pine smoke.
Just another reason to not go next week, even though that was not going to happen. Might freak the locals out if they had to land a helicopter in Jerry's pasture.
