      Greetings!

I recall seeing "somebody" in the mid 90's, in the Shotgun News, that was making "Volcanic Pistols"
chambered for the .22ShortRF...
   Would've been interesting to see!

M.T., if it's the same guy, I saw several of his guns at the Winchester Arms Collectors show in Cody.  I believe it was probably in the early to mid 90's.  They were all in the white, no blued finish.  They were absolutely beautiful and dead ringers in size and shape to the original Volcanic.  If I remember right, he had a carbine, a rifle and two different barrel lengths of pistol.  The were available in .22 LR and I think, .32 short S&W.  Too long ago, so I have no idea who he is/was.  I don't know how many he made in each model, but I've never seen any for sale on the used market.

Dixie Gun Works had a "previously owned" .22LR Volcanic pistol for sale years ago. It had serial no. 49.

Now, if only Uberti or the Henry Repeating Arms Co. (or anybody, really!) could start making replicas of the Volcanic Navy Size pistol, chambered in .44 Russian so it would qualify for Classic Cowboy, and with a factory -installed short-stroke kit so it could be operated single-handedly....!
Imagine shooting Frontier Cartridge Gunfighter with a pair of Volcanics...?!!
I salivate by the pure thought of it...

There was a local machinist here in the Houston area in the early 2000's that brought a Volcanic he built to one of our CAS matches.  I don't remember what it was chambered for, but it was really beautiful.

I believe that was CRM(?) who posted here. Not sure if any of his contributions made the changeover or not, I'll have to search to find out. I believe he had a proprietary 40 cal cartridge he also made for them, but I think he did it not for commercial sale, just for his own enjoyment.

I remember a running thread on "Paco Kelly's Lever Guns" chronicling a fella that started with a bunch of billet stock and finish a .40 Auto chambered replica of the Volcanic.  Was absolutely SPLENDIFFERIOUS

Sounds like the same feller. He did say it was just a personal project and wasn't building them for sale.  It was a beautiful gun.
