What Price Glory 1899 US Khaki Cotton Uniform Package
« on: April 06, 2022, 03:12:01 PM »
Hey Everyone,

I was hoping to purchase on of What Price Glory's US 1899 Khaki uniforms. Only problem is that the largest jacket size they have is 38. Now I've lost weight and all, but no way could I ever get into one of those. Anyway, I called Jerry and he said that if enough people contacted them about wanting the uniform, then they would probably make some more up. You can find out how to do that on their web page. I know there are not very many of us here in GAF who can wear a 38 jacket, so let's see if we can get them to make more of our size.

Sincerely,
Dewayne Liebrandt

I would have been 14 the last time I could wear a 38...unless he was talking about waist size

....be more expensive, look at the 1906 blouse, paired with the 1899 trousers. Just a thought......they have those in sizes larger than 38. Last time I wore anything that small I was probably 16 years old.

My dress green uniform jacket is a size 38. I went into the Army as a 6'1, 175lb beanpole.
within the first couple of years I could barely wear the thing. Came out of the army still 6'1, but about 210lb-and still wearing the same size 32 pants, but jacket was noticeably "gapping" between the buttons.

Yeah, you weren't a bean pole, when I was 18 and most of the way to 22, I was a 6'1" tall 135 pound bean pole AND the kid taller than me weighed 120 pounds.  We'd have been linemen, but thank GAWD we didn't have football.

....I'm just the opposite. I can still wear whatever old blouses and dress coats I have left. Can't wear any of my old trousers.

I probably wore a size 38 at some point, but I'm not sure I can remember that far back..........

I still have some of my Dad's navy uniforms. His pants were size 28, but, in the back, where they normally had the laces to adjust them, his were pulled together and sewn, so his waist was something less than 28" at the time.
