Howdy all, got up to 73 this afternoon and lots of sun after a day that poured rain. Worked all day at the store, Monday going to work out with the owner on an ATI Commander, gun is in great shape, I will bobtail it, done it before and got talked out of the gun by a cop buddy. Church tomorrow, then after the Afternoon service gonna go buy a couple of new ceiling fans for the back porch. The windows are in so they are going to put them in this week.

I have settled on a load of 7.5 grains of Unique under a 200 or 250 Grain RNFP cast bullet. My Opentops, Schofields and my 73 carbine all run well with it.

I limit by fouling by shooting full power loads, 7.5 grains of Unique under a 200 or 250 grain RNFP. And yup, I do have to clean em, but not as much as the guys with mouse fart loads.

New project...I acquired this little Philadelphia Deringer Kit today.
I remember seeing these in the early 80's ,this one is NOS circa 1984 and was never assembled.
It was made in Italy. I plan to put it together.

I kinda mocked it together for these photos.

Edit...
I decided not to build the little Derringer Kit (already have two wall hangers in loading cave anyway)
  I'll past it on....
I have posted it on Ebay less the anti's over there pull it because it breaks one of their forbidden draconian rules  ::)

Its just sorta mocked up for the photo, other parts and in the box.

Nice. Glad you got them figured out and they shoot good. Sometimes we just have a weird day at the range.

Miserable weather day here today, Started as rain, turned to sleet, then to S**w, then back to rain/sleet and finally rain, temps were low to mid 30's it was the kind of day that make your entire body ache. Tomorrow will be better, going to meet a bunch of friends to swap/sell CAS clothes, gear and then a potluck dinner.Y'all have a good night.

The Winchester Model 1876 / Re: '76 Muskets in Hawaii

I have a M1886 Winchester in .45-70 that has "CGH" stamped on the buttstock. (Don't have access to the S/N right now. The rifle appears to have been reblued at sometime. I thought I had a magazine article on the subject, but can't find it now.  :(  The s/n does fall within the range of the ones according to the article.

Howdy RR and others,

I have a .38 OT (no help there). My other OT is .45 Colt; however it is a 3rd model dragoon converted by Hoofhearted. So, my 6grs. of American Select under a 200 gr bullet feels pretty mild. Given the size of the cylinder, I could probably go much hotter but I use the same load in all my 45's. So the forgoing was probably of little help.

Glad I could participate,

Rev. Chase
