The Powder Room - CAS reloading / Re: Herters 45 Colt?

Powder is the cheapest part of the cartridge. Get an impact bullet puller and few at a time pull the bullet and reload with a good powder like GOEX FFFg like God and Col Colt intended.
Yes S&B primer pockets need to be swedged to fit a large primer but with primers at $80/K + hazmat  primed cases are worth the effort.

Quit yer whining, you lived didn't you, if you would have got killed they would have made you walk it off.   ;D  I was 12 and it was in the pasture.

Come on Del
I'll bet your pasture didn't have 3 ft diameter bunkers planted around it.  Try an evade all those critters in your attempt to raise, lower and tilt the plow at the same time.  Reminds me of the Kids "one legged man in a butt kicking contest".  I did say I survived, as well as the truck and a large portion of the light bases.

Gunsmithing / Re: Krag parts....Sources?
« Last post by Ironbadger on Yesterday at 03:28:04 PM »
Gun shows have always been my favorite source for gun parts.

Sadly, I live in southern California where gun shows have mostly been driven out.

And so many of the surplus gun companies I used to love have bit the dust.

Theres also shotgun news classifieds- got a lot of obscure parts from there over the years.

I take a long view on acquiring parts for projects, and I'm patient.

And its really nice to find new sources I had not previously known about.  :)

Perhaps this will help, from Arthur Pirkles book on the '66, '73 and '76 which is chock full of detail.  All black and white, no pics, but great info and super inexpensive.  After I got an original '92, I got his book for that, too.
