Gentlemen, a friend just picked up a Pedersoli Sharps in .40-65.  What bullet are you guys using for that?

Midway also has the 410 grain Saeco 740 mold.  But I think the 640 better suits the Pedersoli's twist.

FWIW, I posted your question over on the Shiloh Forum, and was told by Kenney Wasserberger to get the 640.  He's pretty much the Gold Standard over there.

Saeco 640 for general use. I also have had very good success with the Lyman 410665 for a hunting bullet. Don't rule out paper patching as an option, my 40-65 absolutely thrives on it.

See my answers on the Shiloh forum but basically the 386 gr bullet from Buffalo arms, the rcbs 409csa and the Lyman stover all work well
But if the op there didn't do a typo on the barrrl twist keeping the bullet length to 1.3 maximum will give much better results across all the distances and wind conditions

It worked really well in our 40-65's. My wife shot expert scores in midrange both target rifle matches she shot in with her high wall.
I did play with it a bit in my 18 twist 40-70 and it showed promise ,but not paper patch promise😀

Miss my Pedersoli Sharps in .40-65. As I recall, the Lyman Snover 410663 gave a good account of itself. I've never been disappointed by a Buffalo Arms mold.

I have a mold, I think by Lyman, of the Snover bullet. If memory serves, Ron Snover and Dick Guinn came up with the design. It has performed very well for me back when I could see what I was shooting at.
