Even though you don't have room for long range, you should be able to set the targets back farther than most SASS clubs seem to be setting them. If there's room, try NOT setting them up in neat rows with all targets the same distance and height. At the 2010 Grand Muster, they had variations like starting off the stage firing a small cannon, or a muzzle loading pistol(bonus for a hit with it). One stage had us shooting pistols through a fence from kneeling position. If you have room for enough lateral moovement, I remember another, from '09, we mover from one position to another, using different weapons, dragging a "wounded soldier" from one position to another, and even picking up a discarded spear and using it on an enemy that got too close. Basically avoid "stand and deliver, sweep left to right , then right to left" type stages.
