A very good friend of mine brought his greatgrand father's 38-40 win., 24" ,,mod., "92". Barrel stamped "patent OCT-8 1884",has a oct., barrel, frnt., sight is dovetailed w/set screw,,it is all orig., right down to the broke(repaired back in 1928) stock,,,bore is clean w/ no signs of pitting ,,it does still gets shot pretty often ( coyotes ,deer ). How do I go about getting a production date,,also need reloading info ., powder,,lead bullets ,etc.He has been shooting 180 gr., HJFN AMMO, FACTORY LOADS.
