Metal in holsters, what do you use?
« on: May 18, 2022, 04:40:25 AM »
I have been making my own holsters for CAS for some years now. In my next holster I want to tilt the holster out from the body a bit, and use metal inside the holster on the top part of it. What kind of metal should I use? Thickness?

I should think Drop Forged Stainless about half inch thick should suffice  ;D

It's been many years since I made a steel lined holster. Last time I believe I used 20 or possibly even 24 ga mild steel sheet. I have also used rawhide to line one. That was an interesting experience because it was a bugger to wet mold but it is another possibility for you to consider.
