I have a correction to make...

I have been on here bragging about my krag load with 10 grains of promo (which is very similar to red dot), which is very comfortable to shoot and fairly accurate.

I started this load after reading "The Load" by Ed Harris - https://www.hensleygibbs.com/edharris/articles/The%20Load.htm

I started on 10 grains, because I was concerned about the pressure. I liked the grouping and stuck with it. After my performance at the Grand Muster this year I was less thrilled...

Yesterday, I went out and tried some new loads... watching for signs of pressure on the case, I found 13 grains to be significantly more effective...

if the photo loads you will see the loose 10 on the bottom right, 11 on top right, 12 on top left, 13 bottom left... I thought the open pattern was because it was an older gun, but turns out with 13 and 12 that there was significant improvement... this was 25 yards!

So, after this I will now recommend a little more powder. Sorry for promoting anything that wasn't the best!!
A day shooting is good for what ails ya!

I n eed to try that with my Krag, I've used "the load" with red dot and it was pretty accurate with a 217 gr bullet. But maybe 13 grain might tighten it up a bit.
