Kiowa Creek Belt Clip Loading Block
« on: October 19, 2006, 02:02:17 PM »
Necessity is the Mother of Invention!

One of the biggest headaches for me at a match, is going to the loading table with my ammo. I have never been totally satisfied with my system. A couple of years ago, I made my loading strips which helped quite a bit, but I was still not satisified because it was still a pain getting the cartridges out of the strip, and I never had a good place to put the empty loading strip after I was finished loading.

Well, Kiowa Creek Trading company has solved all my problems at the loading table with their new "Belt Clip Loading Block". It is a one piece hardwood loading block, 10 pistol, 10 rifle in the caliber of your choice, wrapped in hand-tooled leather with a very nice finish applied.

With this little jewel, I load it up at my gun cart and clip it on my belt behind my right side holster, go to the loading table, take it off the belt, load up and then replace it back on my belt. No hassles!

I learned about it in the CC, and you can check it out at :

http://www.kiowacreektrading.com/STORE/belt_clip_loading_block.htm

I bought mine with the .45 configuration, but will be ordering another in .45/.38 configuration in the near future.

Have you tried loading .38's in your .45 block? Will they stay in with the cover snaped?

The possibility of them falling out definitly exists.

I was manning a loading table at a shot once and a pretty little Senorita came up carrying a bible with a big silver crucifix on the front. Then she opened it up and lo and behold, it was a home made ammo holder!

But, what did she do with it after she finished loading?

I've had a Kiowa Creek loading block for a while now and I liked the design initially. It does allow you to carry your ammo up to the table, load and clip it to your belt without having to wory about it. I found that at the unloading table, it took to much time to reload the emptys back into the block, and I ended up dumping them into my pockets anyway.... I also found that the clip from the loading block was scratching up my belt more than I would like, so I quit using it and fell back to the time honored "Crown Royal" bag..... I have 6 or 7 of the smaller ones. I load them up with 10 pistol and 10 rifle rounds and leave them in the gun cart till needed. The I grab it and take it to the table with me, dump the ammo, load the guns and stuff it into my pocket of my vest. At the unloading table, I dump my empty brass back in it, then back to the cart and dump the empties into my brass bucket.

Besides being usefull, the bags are fun to empty when you buy them at the store.....

I use the loading block at the loading table and park my cart close to the unloading table. Then I just carry the emptys over to my cart and dump them in my "bank bag" that I have attached to my cart.

Great minds think alike. I picked up one of those blocks at the Convention two years ago and I really like it.  I have a small bank bag folded into my bullet pouch and take it out at the unloading table and use that to walk them couple steps back to my cart and dump the brass into the big bank bag hanging on the handle.  Bag gets refolded and put back into the pouch.  Block gets re-loadedwith 20 rounds and then I look to see who needs to be relieved to go shoot.

I like making only one trip to and from the cart.
