Great News Everyone! Ephraim Hayes Fellow was born on 6/6/2023 to Michael (Snake Oil) and Kylee Fellow. He is 18 1/2 inches long and weighed 7 lbs even. This is #8 for Michael! I am still hoping he will be accompanying me to the Grand Muster later this month if he can tear himself away from his own personal squad of youngens. Congratulations Michael & Kylee!

One in Christ,

Got a couple video's of me shooting BP with the Presidio the other day. We'll just call them bloopers, as the thing was not feeding well and the language was R rated at the very least. So I took my very 1st screen shot from one of the video's to share with you all.

Some surprises. WANO 2ff gives better groups than Swiss 1.5 f and Goex cartridge. WANO fouls just as much, but the fouling stays soft, the other two are dry and crusty enough to cause leading in 5 shots. All powders groups go to hell after two shots....I'm dealing with lube starvation. I'm going to have to get a mold cut with black powder grooves to make this work with black powder. So, off to smokeless next. I'm thinking 20grs of 5477 with a 250gr bullet, and a 270gr bullet. Anybody see any problems with this? Maybe 18grs would be better?  Can't find anything on smokeless loads with those two bullet weights so I'm winging it. :-\.

1911 & Wild Bunch Shooting / Re: Recommendations for a better 1911
« Last post by Bunk on Yesterday at 03:44:24 PM »
Caveat :I do not shoot Wild Bunch but  the 1911 is my favorite cartridge gun as my gun rack will attest. Gold Cup in the 2XXX range, a couple of Commanders and a small herd of Government models that I shoot a lot. A lot being three or four days a week three or four magazines full.
I have a range in my back yard and am learning to shoot Steel Challenge.
Never had a feeding problem even with a couple of Essex frame government size , but they all use Wilson Rodgers magazines and after many many rounds year after year they never failed.
My thought is spend your money on a reasonable price gun and don't skimp on cheap magazines. Get the best.

I just enjoy the heck out of this.  The whole concept of BPCR is WW1 Naval Gunfire on the prairie:  Guys behind powerful glass calling overs and shorts to big smoking breechloaders.   ;D
Hey Chuck have you seen these? I thought about buying one for you but then questioned whether I like you THAT much?  ;) ;D
