Interchanging barrels

have a question may be stupid, but would a barrel from a Cimarron/Uberti 1861 Colt Navy interchange with a 1851 Richards-Mason conversion 38 special? I know it will need special ammo. Would a kirst ejector rod for 1860 army fit? I am trying to build a 1861 navy richards-mason in 28 special to go with my collection. Wish they would put navy grip frame on their 1860 Army richard's type II I 38 special, I would buy it in a heart beat.
