 :) Holy Guacamole Compadre  :o

 8) Several Lustrum ago, at a gun show, in a land far far away, I thought it some RIDICULOUS when I ran across an original box of .44 Henry Flat for just short of Seven Hundred Dollars.  I near choked.  Now, the Box and the Cartridges were in really good shape but I just couldn't get around the Seven Hundred Buck price for 50 rounds.  Especially since I had access to an Original 1866 and I really wanted to shoot it  ;D

I do however, think someone bidding $29.99 is an insult but a current bid of near Seven Grand  :o is some Obscene in my book. :P

Why merely $136.50 a round !

Well yea.  Broken down to a "per round" cost, it does seem much much more reasonable.  Kinda like the cost to buy a House.  Look at the total price and yule choke.  Have to look at the monthly payments to make it palatable.  YIKES!!  What am I saying!!

Major 2, just curious to know what auction this box was in?

Buck Stinson

Does anyone happen to know what auction this box was in?

I was thinking about you, Buck, when I saw this. Do I remember that you used to shoot an original 1866 with original ammo in your youth?

Yes I  did.  You have to keep in mind, back in the mid-60's .44 Henry rimfire ammo was around 25 cents each.  Every gun show had a handful of loose rounds.  I have three full boxes of Henry/1866 ammunition and one still has an old price on it of $1.50.
