Sir,
AS I PM'ed you yesterday, I am still willing to command Troop D, and as far as I know One Star Charlie is still willing and able to act as my adjutant, and I've seen Irish Red O'Tooe's postings around the barracks from time to time, and he had agreed to be my Top Sgt. If this is still agreeable to them and to you, we shall continue, Sir.
Your humble servant, Sir!
Captain Douglas Cedar
Commanding Troop D

Good Afternoon, Colonel El Confederado;
Bvt. Captain Malachi Thorne, USMC, reporting as ordered.
My previous assignment was that of Detachment Commander of Marines, Department of the Pacific. I am willing (and now able) to fullfill that post, and am willing to undertake other assignments as well. (I am, however, partial to the Corps, and would prefer to remain within the USMC...)
I have the honor to remain,
Your Obedient Servant,

Bvt Capt Malachi Thorne is appointed as Acting Chief of Staff for the Department of the Pacific until such time as Bvt Col El Confederado completes his family obligations and can rejoin us.
Bvt Capt Thorne is authorized to make such decisions and actions as necessary for the well being of the Department. Since he has already begun to do so on his own initiative, I have no doubts that he will continue to run the Department until further notice.
