Ran some errands this afternoon. Kids 4H club had a soup supper. Got home a little bit ago.

it sure was some good eating,  I took a picture of one of his cookware creations for Del,  he had taken a truck, cast iron brake drum and welded on legs and  a bottom, the thing weighed about 100 pounds, he had used it to cook a turkey, put a pan in the bottom with water and a little rack that the turkey sat on.  then he had just cut out a lid of about a 1/4 inch steel.
never had seen a cooking contrapition like it.

Mmmmmmm!  Nothing like turkey flavored with asbestos. ;D ;D

Soup sounds good.  I might see what the pantry has for me.

here's another shot of the cook ware

I thought about that asbesto's,  I asked him how he had cleaned it, just out of curosity, said he had taken it to a radiator shop and had it boiled out, then he put water in it and  boiled it dry a few times,  I passed on the turkey and just stuck with the standard cast iron  cookware. ;D

Good idea... the radiator shop probably used antifreeze to clean it with. :o :o :D

I'm gonna finish the last of the turkey tenderloin and rice.  I guess I need to get another packet of gravy out. ;D

Howdy, pards. I'm back. the day started out at 41° when we rolled into Elk Grove and ended up in the low 80's. The dogs ran, the people milled around and the horses watched the proceedings with disinterest. It was a good day. We left this morning at 4:00 and just got in. What a Day. Now I'm getting caught up with the forum. You all have been busy.

That's the outfit. I didn't know they were that big. Of course, I'm glad I didn't know that. Or have any reason to know it. :D

I think you did the wisest thing. That thing will probably leech oils and whatnot out of it for years to come. So much easier to go buy a nice cast iron pot like one of Del's and be done with it.

Are we supposed ta turn our clocks back tonight?  ???
Yeah. Our atomic clock is racing ahead 11 hours since it can't go backward. That will take a few hours to accomplish.

This sounds interesting. I haven't formulated any opinion on those things. Not enough to go on. Looking forward to your photos.

OK, I'm going to go act like a moderator on the Leather Forum. 8)
